Hidden Deal at Bi-Lo

At Bi-Lo from 9/18 through 10/11, if you buy (2) McCormick products you will get $1 off your next order at Bi-lo. It's gets even better! If you buy (3) then you will get $2 to use onyo and if you buy (4) you will get $3 to use onyo. This is a great deal, especially since there have been many $1 off qs in the Sunday inserts RP 8/30 and here. I plan on adding this to my Bi-Lo list and if I find any really fantastic deals, I'll update later today. I hope this will let me stock up on spices we need for all the cooking we do during the holidays!

Even if you don't need any of the FREE items consider buying them anyways and donate them to your local food bank or homeless shelter. It will make you feel great! ( P.S. My friend and fellow blogger at PalmettoStateSaver highly recommends using the Harris Teeter on Folly Rd - very coupon friendly! )

Can't let FREE money go to waste!

I realized today that I have $4 in ExtraCareBucks that expire today! I have to use them on something! I did a quick scan of the ad and I see they have a couple of things I would like to get to add to my donation box. I just found out this morning, that a family in a nearby neighborhood lost their house and everything it after a fire over the weekend. So they really need just about everything you can think of.

Here's what I found:

Get $2 ECB wyb Colgate Total Advanced 4 oz $2.99 (limit 1)
Use either of these qs to make it $1.99
$1 off Colgate Total SS 9/13, 8/30 or $1 off Colgate Total Advanced Clean printable
and you get your $2 in ECB to use on your next transaction

So far my total is $1.99, but I need to see if I have the coupon match ups for the Suave body wash they have on sale. Otherwise I'll have to get some cheap filler items so as not to waste my $4 ECBs!

Cleaned up house with Swiffer deal at Target

I have NO clue what to make of this new receipt set-up. I know I paid the right price because I was very meticulous with my list before I went, but this "new" receipt layout is more confusing than the last one! Assuming no overages, I should have paid approx. $35.76 before tax. I could have split up the order and used my Swiffer gift card for the air fresheners but I had both kiddos with me. They were being really good and I didn't want to push my luck. I also lucked out and had a very nice cashier!

Here's what I got:
8 bags Chef Michaels dog food $4.26ea
10 cans Chef Michaels dog food $.84ea
2 Swiffer WetJets $17.99ea
2 Swiffer WetJets double refills (liquid cleaner) $8.79ea
1 Swiffer WetJet single refill(liquid cleaner) $4.79
4 Glade Sense & Spray $5.69ea
2 Air wick Imotion $4.99ea
1 Betty Crocker Fruit Shapes $1.75
10 Individual Strings Cheeses $.40ea

Q's:
(8) $1.50 TQ and (8) $3 mfr q for Chef Michaels bagged dog food
(5) BOGO TQ and (5) BOGO mfr q Chef Michaels canned dog food
(1) $5 off WetJet starter kit mfr q + $1 TQ off any Swiffer starter kit
(1) $3 off WetJet starter kit mfr q + $1 TQ off any Swiffer starter kit
FREE Refill w/ purchase of WetJet starter kit (home mailer) (no max $ amount) yeah! I wrote in $8.79
FREE Refill w/ purchase of WetJet starter kit (max $7 amount) still great! I wrote in $7.00
$1 off any Swiffer refill (home mailer)
(4) $4 off any Glade Sense & Spray (One stop. One Store. booklet from Publix)
(2) $4 off any Air Wick imotion mfr q
$.50 TQ (register print out from prvs purchase) off any Betty Crocker fruit snacks and $.40 mfr q
(5) $1/2 TQ market pantry cheese products

$32.62 OOP and $8.10 of that was tax
Saved $145.36
Got a $5.00 gift card
$10 worth of qs in my Swiffer WetJet boxes
$16 worth of qs in my Sense & Spray Kits

So I was looking at my receipt in the car after I left, as I normally do, and I saw the double Swiffer refills actually rang up for $7.99 instead of $8.79, but the cashier still entered the one FREE refill q for $8.79. I had to do some quick math on the Swiffer refills total though because I was trying to reach the $20 spending limit to do the $10 cash back rebate. Just made it at $20.47 before qs - close call because yesterday was the last date to purchase for the rebate!

What am I gonna do when the deals for FREE dog food and cheese sticks are over?

I forgot to add - My 9yr old DD was SUPER excited that I was buying the WetJets??? Still haven't figured that out yet, but maybe she can have fun cleaning the floors!

Two Stops at Bi-Lo

I ended up making two quick stops at my local Bi-Lo stores. I really wanted the Magic Erasers they had on sale!

1st stop - Super Bi-Lo
Filippo Extra Virgin Olive Oil B1G1 price $6.99 - $1 IP = $5.99 (they had a smaller bottle on sale as well but we really use EVOO so I wanted the bigger bottle)
2 Blue Bunny personal ice creams B1G1 sale price $.62ea - (2) $1 IP = FREE with overage for both (join bluebunny.com and receive an email for a $1 off any Blue Bunny ice cream - you can print 2)
$5.39 OOP after tax and saved $6.71 and earned some Fuel Perks!

2nd stop at Bi-Lo
1 Starkist tuna pouch B1G1 sale price $.54 - $.50 IP = $.04 (Bi-Lo won't typically double a q to give you overage) go to starkist tuna website to play a game & then print q
1 Spray n Wash Bright & White B1G1 price $2.49 - $1.50 = $.99 + $1.50 saved in my Upromise account. (print q from homesolutions.com)
$1.24 OOP after tax and saved $5.05, plus earned more Fuel Perks!

They were out of Magic Erasers so I had to get a rain check but that's okay. I'll round up some more $1 qs for them and make my own sale when they get more in stock!

I was truly bummed that I forgot about a good deal Bi-Lo had with this last ad. They had Hillshire Farm lunch meat on sale and all month long they have a promo to get their store brand lunch meat for FREE wyb the National brand. Ugh! I have some great qs that would have made this an awesome deal! I could have used (3) $.55/1 mfr qs, (1) FREE Sara Lee bread wyb Hillshire Farm lunch meat, and a rebate for a FREE lunch bag wyb 3 Hillshire Farms lunch meat. So I would have paid approx $6.70 for 6 pks of lunch meat, 1 loaf of bread, and a lunch bag! Normally, all that could easily been over $20!!! Talk about kickin' myself in the rear!

Harris Teeter Triples Event!

Uh-oh! I know my friend Lauren is gearing up for this event!

Starting on 9/16 Harris Teeter will triple any coupon $.99 or less! Whoohoo! I know lots of people that make the trek to Harris Teeter just for their triples event.

You can only use 20 q's per day so check thru your stockpile to find some good ones! If you haven't already signed up for a VIC card, get one when you go to the store. I requested mine by mail and it took over 2 weeks to receive it. Also, Harris Teeter is a participating grocery store with Upromise, so don't forget to register your card with Upromise the same day you get it!

Happy saving!

Publix Penny Item 9/12-9/13

One shopper has already been out and about!

Her Px store has Publix brand Vanilla Wafers as the penny item.

I'll make a trip to get these and use them in recipes with all the pudding mixes I have stocked up on!

Don't forget the paper has really good coupon inserts this weekend. Anyone know where we can get The State paper? I've looked all over...

(If you are not familiar with Publix Mystery Penny item, here's a quick guide. Every Sunday, Px puts an ad in the paper with a q for a Mystery Penny item that you can only get on Sunday and Monday. It's just their way of getting you into the store to spend some money, but the item is usually pretty useful. Items in the past have been 4pk Px brand toilet paper, Px tortilla chips, Px window cleaner. The item is always a Px brand item and sometimes they run out of the item, especially if it's a really good one, like toilet paper. If your store runs out of the penny item they will substitute another item. You have to spend $10 before coupons to get the penny item. If you are having trouble reaching the $10 limit, don't forget to include the original $ amount of the Penny Item. Example: xx item $2.50, xx item $1.99, xx item 2.99, Px Vanilla Wafers $1.99, xx item $1.39 = $10.86. Then after you give the cashier your Penny Item q, he/she will deduct $1.98 from your total and assuming you didn't have any other q's to use your total would be $8.88 before tax.)
