Quick Hitter!

I have been checking out all the fun I could have at CVS, so I have been biding my time and making my plan of attack for my first visit with my Bestie later tonight.

Step one: Get a ExtraCareCare and add the number to my Upromise account.

Step two: Take my 2 prescriptions to CVS and use a KMART coupon good for a $25 gift card per transferred prescription. It expires today and I hate to see FREE money go to waste. CVS takes all other competitor pharmacy prescription transfer coupons. I do dabble in the prescription transfer game and normally, I sell my FREE gift cards on ebay to earn extra spending money. I think though I will keep my newly acquired CVS gift cards totaling $50 and see how far I can stretch them before I have to pay anything OOP at CVS. I h ave heard some tall tales from other CVSers saying they can go months on a $5.00 gift card. If that's true I should be able to use mine for years!

I had time to kill while I was waiting for my prescriptions so I headed over to Target to check out the clearance items. This is one of my favorite things to do! There wasn't too much of a selection today, but I remembered I wanted some more of the Auro socks for my daughter, I needed chalk for our To Do Board at home, and hand sanitizer to complete my son's school supply list. Here's how I did:

Crayola Chalk box of 12 $.64
4 pack Auro socks $4.99
2oz Purell Hand sanitizer $1.37
-$2.00 mfr q on socks towards any school supplies
-$.50 mfr q off Purell
-$.50 mfr q off Auro socks (from previous purchase of these socks - q was inside pkg)
Total due $4.56 after tax
Used gift card from previous purchase
Paid NOTHING OOP and have $.44 left on my gift card - guess I'll have to treat myself to a candy bar next trip! Yeah Me!!

Step Three: Check the flyer for next week's sales, grab my coupons, and plan my visit to CVS to start rolling my Extra Care Bucks!

Great Savings at Target!

I heard a rumor there was a $2.00 off school supplies q on Auro brand socks at Target. The boy needed socks and my girlie needed to cross 2 items on her back to school list. I figured as long as the socks weren't ridiculously expensive, I could end up with a decent deal. So off to Target I went with my kiddos and my newly organized coupon binder.

Target:
Auro girls socks $4.99 ($.50q inside on next purchase and $2.00 off this purchase of school supplies)
2 small fun-size bags M&M's $2.04ea (on teacher's wish list to use as rewards in class)
1 3 Musketeers single candy bar $.69ea
1 Loreal lip gloss clearance $3.84
1 Kotex 16ct (found in travel section) $1.02
2 Pocket 3 prong folders $.15ea
1 Clipboard $.99
- Used these coupons: $1/2 Target M&Ms or Snickers Funsize & $2 MFR Q off any M&M or Snickers funsize candy bag, FREE Candy Bar q from Free Chocolate Fridays - see link below, $2 Any Loreal Cosmetic q, $1 any Kotex (I keep the box top for my daughter's school and then donate the liners to local shelter), $2 off schools supplies, and $5 gift card from previous purchase.
$14.73 with tax before qs
$8.69 in qs
$5.00 gift card
Only paid $1.04 OOP!!!! (out of pocket)

You can see above that several of my qs enabled me to get several items for FREE or for pennies. A few of my qs had overages that helped bring my overall total down as well. An example of this would be the $2.00 off school supplies. The Q didn't require any minimum purchase amount to receive the discount. Since I only purchased $1.29 in what would be considered traditional school supplies, the remaining $.71 helped pay for the socks!!!
I like a good "bang" for my buck, so don't forget I also got a Box Top off the Kotex and something for charity! Even a yummy candy bar to reward myself for my shopping savvy. Go ME!

Don't forget about FREE Chocolate Fridays! Quick to fill out and you'll get a coupon in the mail to use later!

All about me and more that you didn't care to know!

I'm a WAHM with a wonderful hubby and two terrific kids. This last year I have become obsessive about couponing. It's a whole new way of life for my family and I want to pass this craft onto my children to give them a better idea of the value of a dollar.

One of my fav things to do is meet the girls for margaritas and cheese dip! YUMMY! We can gossip and curse like sailors without our husband's censor. Ya know, like we did when they met us and thought it was hot.

My son has Down Syndrome but this blog isn't a soap box for special needs activism. This is for me because so much of the rest of my life is or will continue to revolve around the Boy. That's what we call him, by the way. It's his official title and job description.

I believe what I believe and I don't care if you agree. I'm not going to throw my views down your throat.

I am extremely opinionated and judgemental about the interlopers in my family and friends lives. Just ask my brothers about their previous girlfriends they have brought around. To say I am protective over my loved ones is an understatement. I will make sure you are fully aware that you are not welcome. In other words, don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!
