The Master Plan for 9/12

I usually hit up the stores on the weekend so I don't have to drive anywhere during the week unless an incredible comes my way! Here are my plans Publix, Walgreens, and Food lion. To tell the truth, Food Lion only had one item that appealed to me, so I probably will not bother going there this weekend. **Updates made after my trip to Publix**

All Target q can be found on http://www.hotcouponworld.com/

I use http://www.southernsavers.com/food-lion-coupons/ to print all my Food Lion Internet Prints. Jenny at southernsavers.com does a great job of updating these and her site is much easier to use than Food Lions!

Sites to print IPs unless otherwise noted:
http://www.smartsource.com/
http://www.redplum.com/
http://www.couponsinc.com/
http://www.coupons.com/

Qs from newspaper circulars are noted as well.
-Example: RP 8/30 means RedPlum from 8/30 Sunday paper, PG 8/30 means Proctor & Gamble from 8/30 Sunday paper, and SS 8/30 means SmartSource from 8/30 Sunday paper.

Quick stop at Walgreens to get Pb&J.
-9/5 Walgreens in ad q for $1.99 wyb Smuckers Jelly and Jiff PB.
-Use $1 off wyb Smuckers Jelly and Jiff PB (SS 8/16 or RP 8/09) = $.49ea! **Oh boy did I read the strore q wrong! I thought it said $1.99 for both Smuckers Jelly and Jiff but it really meant each were $1.99. Needless to say I did not make a purchase.**

PUBLIX Deals and BOGO - price listed is taking into consideration the BOGO. Px rings up each item at half price, so if you only need one you still get a good deal!

2 General Mills cereals $1.99ea
The GM website has $1/1 and $1/2 qs available so my purchase price will be different depending on which ones are still offered when I go to print
http://www.generalmills.com/
-(2)$1 off Cookie Crisp IP from and (2)$1 off any gm cereal TQ = free or
-(1) $1 off any 2 gm IP and (2) $1 off any gm TQ = $.49ea or $.99 or **Did this deal**
-(2) .75 off Kix and (2) $1 off any gm TQ = $.24ea or $.49 but I don't think anyone in my house will it this

2 Kellogg’s Cereal at $2.09 Frosted Mini-wheats, or Unfrosted Mini-Wheats
-(2)$1 mfr q in previous box or $2/2 Kelloggs cereal w/ fiber (RP 8/30) = $1.09ea
Not that great a deal considering I'm only paying $.49 a box for GM cereal but still a good savings on cereal that was originally $4.19 a box. I have this q (below) from a Kelloggs flyer that came out over the summer. So if the price of the juice is right, might be a good deal over all.
-$2 off OceanSpray cranberry juice wyb 2 Kelloggs cereal
**Yellow Advantage Px flyer had q for FREE re-usable bag wyb 2 Kellogs, Sushine, and/or Keebler items**

2 Pillsbury Toaster Strudel bogo $1.25
-(2)$1 off Pillsbury Toaster Strudel printable = $.25ea

4 Planter’s Trail Mix 5.5-6oz regular price ranges from $1.99 to 2.49 (I think my Px has them for $1.99 reg price
-(4)$2 off FLIP = FREE w/ overage
-$1/2 any planters nuts (nabisco booklet from august 2009) = overage! If you don't have one of these booklets, go to http://www.nabiscoworld.com/back-to-school/ to register for one

2 Green Giant Boxed Frozen Vegetables $1 ea

2 GE Energy Smart Blub, 10-26 watt, 50% off price not listed **40watt $1.79 & 75watt $2.39**
If these aren't a good deal then they are a no go for me. I'll update w/ the price when I find out!

Philadelphia Cream Cheese 8oz tub $1ea

Lenders Bagels $1.05ea

Kraft Shredded Cheese $1.75ea x 2 **I didn't buy because my store didn't have them marked as on sale**

-Use (2)$2 off any 2 Fanta 12pks peelies, (2)$1 off any 2 Coke 12pks 9/5 Riteaid flyer q = $2.50ea

SueBee Honey $1.99 - we use this so I will buy 2 b/c it hardly ever goes on sale

1 whole Pineapple should be 3.99 and I have a $1 TQ off any pineapple = approx $2.99 **No pineapples in stock so I got 2.24 lbs of bananas at $.69lb = $1.55**

Bounty paper napkins 180-200ct $2.99
-Use $1 off Bounty napkins Put Clean in Your Cart booklet & $1 off any Bounty product from P&G savings booklet March 2009 = $.99
-Save $.50 for college wyb 1 Bounty napkin product (http://www.upromise.com/) plus an additional % of my entire total spent at Px will also be deposited into a college savings acct set up with Upromise!

**Dzn Px large eggs $1.39**

**12pk Sierra Nevada beer on sale for $13.99**

**6pk Bacardi Mojito beer $6.89**

I believe I have a large enough total before qs to use my $5/$25 Riteaid q (http://www.coupons.com/ use zip code 30013) and $5/$50 Kmart ad q from 9/5 Sunday paper.

Before adding in the light bulbs and juice since I don't know their prices my total is approx $49.11 before tax and before qs.

Off to see if Google can help me find qs for the honey, shredded cheese, cream cheese, and bagels!

Rite-aid 9/13-9/26

The Rite-aid ad comes early in my local city paper. There's not much to write home about. It only had a few offers for Single Check rebates, but there several B1G1's. If you need a prescription though, it will have two $25 qs for transferred prescriptions which you can use at CVS. Another hot item will be the Airwick I-motion air fresheners that are 50%, but the actual price is not listed.

I almost forgot the best part!

When I was in Target yesterday, I noticed they also re-stocked the coveted Glade candle tins. If you don't already know, this is quite a HOT item! The round tins are on sale for $1.66ea thru 9/28 and most of them have a $1.50q inside that you can use instantly! That makes them $.16 piece! I have purchased many of these to use as holiday gifts for teachers and bus drivers. The tins are cute and the scent is very pleasant. I actually have more than I need for gifts so if you are a friend of mine and you are reading this, sorry to ruin the surprise, but MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Almost Free chocolate Friday time!

Starting at 9am today and every Friday go to https://secure.realchocolate.com/ to register for your FREE chocolate coupon. I have already done this several times. Sometimes I end up getting one coupon a week or several at one time - it's so random! I don't care either way because it's a FREE treat for me!

Cleaning up with Target Clearance

I was killing time after my doctor's appt yesterday (no worries, I'm not dying yet, much to the regret of my DH...wink, wink) wondering thru the quiet aisles of Target checking out the clearance endcaps. Publix BOGO and Qs

Ya know Publix is my store, right?

If you ever want to see what items they are featuring as BOGO each ad go to www.pubix.com/bogo

Enter your zip code and then select a store from the list provided.

Don't forget to maximize your savings and use 2 qs if purchasing 2 of the BOGO items. The great thing about Publix is if you only want to buy one of the BOGO items, you can! Their system rings up each item at half price - not like those other grocery stores where you have to buy both items to get one of them free.

DD is gonna love me when I bring home Toaster Struedels for her - no comments about how bad they are for you! They are part of this weeks BOGO deal. Join boxtops4education.com and instantly be able to print qs for $1/2 Toaster Struedels which makes them about $.75 a box! DD has been patiently waiting for these to go on sale. The boxtops4education website currently has some great qs for the General Mills cereals and Green Giant veggies that are also on sale this week at Publix - where saving is a pleasure!

Check out this blog, check out these freebies, check it out!

Whoa. I've been watching too much Sonny with a Chance with my daughter!

www.palmettostatesaver.blogspot.com

Great freebies and tips for those of us not afraid to be cheap! Check, check, check it out!

P.S. Can I just say how happy I am that Ellen is back on? I'm a dork I know it, but I LUF her!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Hope you remembered to get your free Chic-fi-la yesterday! We were going to take advantage of that awesome offer, but our wonderful neighbors invited us over for a cookout with their family. Thanks again Sarah and Paul!

I just wanted to point out two great deals I noticed when I was going thru the sale ads this weekend.

Publix has Ragu Sauce on sale thru today for $1.29 a jar. Combine the $.75/2 TQ with $1/2 or $.60/2 mfr q and you get pretty cheap spaghetti sauce! Depending on the qs you use, the price ends up ranging from $.42 per jar to $.62 per jar.
**Updated 513pm 9/8/09** Muahahahahah! When I cleaned out my binder today I found a $.55/1 mfr q and $.50/1 mfr! I combined those and my TQ to get 2 jars of Ragu for $.31 after tax! Go me, it's my birthday, go me, it's my birthday!

Walgreens has an in-ad q for $1.99 wyb Smuckers Jelly/Jam and Jiff peanut butter. Stack that with the mfr q for $1 off wyb Smuckers Jelly and Jiff to pay only $.49ea!

Target's my Friend

Would you like FREE dog food, cheese sticks, or even teeth whitening strips?

Obviously, your answer is YES! Go to Target, silly. Print Target coupons for $1 off any 2 Market Pantry cheese items, $1.50 off 1 Purina Chef Michael's bagged dog food, and B1G1 Chef Michael's canned food from hotcouponworld.com. Combine the TQs with the mfr qs that came out in the paper a few Sundays ago ($3 off any Chef Michael's bagged dog food and B1G1 Chef Michael's canned dog food) to get FREE dog food with overages. Use the $1/2 TQ for cheese on the individual cheese sticks that are $.40ea to get 2 FREE with overages. These are great for my DD's lunches. Also check out the clearance section near the toothpaste. My Target had 4 count Crest Advanced white strips clearanced for $4.24, but there was a $7.00 off ANY Crest white strips q inside = FREE with overages! That's how I walked out of Target today with two bags of dog food, a poster board for DD, a book for myself, the white strips, and 8 cheese sticks for a whopping $2.63!

If you use a coupon clipping service it really would be worth it to buy some of the mfr $3/1 Chef Michael's dog food and the B1G1 Chef Michael's canned dog food qs. Print the Target ones at Target or use hotcouponworld.com. FREE dog food is really hard to come by very often.

Also, a few other things I noticed while I was browsing. If you need Swiffer items or Glade airfresheners, they are on sale thru 9/28. The Glade kits end up being less than the refills if you have some of the $4 and $3qs. Again, might be a good idea to use a coupon clipping service.

My favorite find at Target tonight was a coupon for a FREE movie ticket valid for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs or Planet 51. I found this coupon on Jumaji dvd box and it was really easy to redeem! Once you enter the code you have to watch a movie trailer then you can print your movie ticket!

Want a $5 off purchase of $20 Rite-aid Q?

I sure got used to always being able to print a $5/$25 CVS or Rite-aid coupon from coupons.com. It's an easy way to save some money on my grocery bill because my Publix (Publix rocks!) accepts competitor coupons. I bet you have been looking for one of these qs, right? Go to http://my.adperk.com/splash/d30b50da/index.html and set up an account with Rite-aid to watch commercials. It's literally like getting paid to watch commercials. Every commercial you watch earns you a coupon for that item and 1 credit towards a $5/$20 q. I did it earlier today and it took me about 20mins to earn the 20 credits I needed in order to print all the qs I earned including the coveted $5/$20 q. It's worth the 20mins. It probably would have gone quicker if I wasn't also trying to print qs with my mini while watching the videos on the desktop computer. Once your q screen displays you will be able to print them more than once, but once you close this screen, kiss those qs bye-bye. Pay attention and make sure you print several copies. The exp date on mine was for 10/31/09.

Pretty Pleasing Publix

Despite the minor fender bender we witnessed in the parking lot, we had a great experience at Publix.

I returned the overpriced toothpaste at customer service and off I went to get the few items I wanted to reach my dollar limit and get my penny tortilla chips.
1 Cottonelle wipes refill $3.99 - $1 mfrq
2 Energizer 9volts $3.29ea - $1/2 mfrq & (2) $.50 TQ
1 Publix ice cream BOGO $2.50
1 Publix tortilla chips $.01
1 EZ Foil pan $1.99 - $.50 mfrq doubled
1 Newspaper $1.75
1 Publix hamburger buns on sale for $.99
Also used $5/$20 Rite-aid q
$10.19 OOP and saved $12.77! This would have been a job well done, if I hadn't forgotten the coleslaw DH wanted to go with dinner... :-)

Stocking up and saving big!

I had several trips today to stock up on some more meat and frozen pizzas. The childroids even came with me since DH went to enjoy some golf. After threatening to disown them if they even so much as thought about misbehaving, they acted very well for me and were rewarded with some FREE gummy Lifesavers.

If you haven't been to Food Lion yet to take advantage of the sales they have on meat, you need to go now. This sale ad ends 9/8 and I walked out of the store with some awesome deals!
3 - 10lb bags of chicken leg quarters at $.39lb = $3.90ea bag
1 - frozen salmon fillets sale price $4.19
1 - frozen flounder fillets sale price $4.19
2 - Carolina Pride sausage sale price $2.50ea
1 - McCormick red pepper flakes sale price $1.29
1 - McCormick paprika sale price $1.09

$1/1 Food Lion oj FLIP
$1.50/2 Carolina Pride sausage
$21.96 OOP and saved $25.15! That's a ton of chicken!

I traveled a few minutes up the road to Kmart because I found some BOGO Dentyne gum qs when we were at Food Lion and I also had a q for Lifesavers. I knew all these items would be free with their doubles deal and I wanted to reward the kids for being good.
8 pks Dentyne gum $1.19ea
1 bag Lifesavers gummies $1.79
Q's I used:
4 BOGO Dentyne gum
1 $1/1 bagged Lifesavers candy
$.09 OOP!!!! Tax only ba-bee and got a catalina q for $5/$50 onyo!

One more trip. Bi-Lo had a couple of items I wanted. I struck out on the Honey Bunches of Oats - sold out, but still got a good deal on frozen pizzas.
4 DiGiorno pizzas $6.59ea
4 Southern Home pizzas (bi-lo brand) $5.17ea
2 Mentos gum $1.35ea
Q's I used:
(4) $1/1 DiGiorno pizza
(4) FREE bilo brand pizza wyb national brand
(2) $.55/1 Mentos gum
$23.42 OOP and saved $26.88! I thought the DiGiorno pizzas were on sale 2 for $10. My super friendly cashier double checked and we both agreed we think they are on sale at another store this week. That's ok! I still got an awesome deal on pizza - $2.79ea! Woot, Woot! And the previous customer didn't want her catalinas so the cashier gave them to me. I told you she was a super friendly cashier!

I still haven't been to back to Publix to return my toothpaste. After so much success today, I feel up to the challenge! Cross your fingers for me...

A Plan Gone Awry

I made a list and checked it twice, had to find out what cost went amiss!

I charted a very well laid course for Publix and I only strayed off course once, but I didn't stay on top of my cashier so in the end, I still sunk my battleship.

The Plan:

Use $5/$20 meat FLIP to purchase a good size boston butt roast at $1.79lb, pork spare ribs at $1.59lb, and 2 pkgs of Carolina Pride sausage at $2.24ea after my $1.50/2 q
1 8o'clock Coffee $4.99-$1q = $3.99
4 ears of corn at $.25ea = $1
2 64oz Gatorade $2ea on sale BOGO & - $1/2 q = $.50ea or $1 for both
1 Fried chicken dinner meal for $10.59 (8pcs, 2 sides, rolls) $10.59- $3FLIP = $7.59
1 2ltr Crush soda w/ hang tag q = FREE w/ purchase of deli dinner meal (this is where I strayed from my plan, but hey! It was FREE!)
2lbs Bananas at $.69lb - $.50 TQ = $.87
3 Lemons for $1.29
3 Limes for $1
1 Bag of Romaine hearts $2.99
1 Publix Half and Half $3.39
2 cans Planters lightly salted peanuts $2.99ea - (2) $2FLIP & $1/2 mfrq = $.49ea or $.99 for both
1 large Cabot Cottage Cheese $2.59
3 boxes Popsicles BOGO $1.99ea - (3)$.75TQ & (3)$1 mfrq = $.74 or .24ea
2 Barber Stuffed frozen chickens BOGO $2.49ea - (2)$1IP = $1.49ea or $2.99 for both
2 Crest toothpastes on sale for $1.66ea - (2) $1 peelies & (2) $.50 mfr q that doubles to make these FREE with about $.34ea in overages
I had $5/$25 Rite-aid and $5/50 Kmart to use as well.

My total should have been around $36.00 after all my qs and before tax.

Ok. So how do I walk out of the store with a bill for $42.73 before tax? Because I was running my mouth, actually. The customer behind me only had a few items and I could tell she was irritated that my transaction was taking so long. I turned to her and smiled and apologized for the wait. She kind of muttered something about it being ok. BUT when she saw how my total went from over $80 to $42, she was hooked. She leaned over me to look at the screen and said, "You saved how much?!" Of course, I had to tell her about southernsavers.com and couponmom.com. I was trying to finish my tranny and still talk to her so it wasn't until I got in the car that I realized I paid too much! Oh, you know I'm going to run over the receipt with a fine tooth comb. I already had to correct the cashier once because she didn't charge me for all my corn. What else was she doing while I was chatting? $4.09ea for toothpaste, under charged for limes, and missing a $2 off q...um, huh? How many things can be wrong with a receipt? I've never had this many before. I know what the difference should be, but at this point I'm going to return the wrong toothpaste I picked up and not worry about trying to explain everything else to customer service. Too much hassle! I'll make another purchase to get the right toothpaste and some more BOGO Hallmark cards to help me get the penny item today. It's Publix brand tortilla chips and we go thru tortilla chips like water around this house.
