Lowest OOP at Publix yet!

The fam and I stopped by my Pappaw's last night to visit and to pick up some Sunday q inserts he set aside for me (so sweet!).  He actually leaves them on his back porch, ya know, just in case I want them and he isn't there.  I think I'll stick with picking them up when he is there so I can check in on him and see how he is doing without being obvious.  He doesn't like to be fussed over.  Besides, if I went by when he wasn't there, I would miss out on being sprayed with Pappaw's special bug spray, also known as...Raid insect killer...yep.  That's how Pappaw rolls.

Anywho, here's how I racked up the savings at Publix today:

(2) Cocoa Puffs = $.74ea
(1) FREE Reusable cooler Px bag (q is for ANY free reusable bag wyb 2 GM cereals)
(2) Quarts Px OJ = $.29ea (q is for $1 off ANY OJ wyb 1 GM cereal)
(1) Post Honey Bunches of Oats w/ Pecans = FREE
(1) Nature Valley granola bars = FREE
(1) Marzetti carmel apple dip = $2.24 (most expensive item on my list!)
(1) Lb of apples = FREE ($1 off fruit wyb Nature Valley bars and $1 off bagged apples wyb Marzetti carmel dip. Even though the Marzetti q says, "$1 off bagged apples, my cashier let me use it  Don't be surprised if you get a strict cashier who won't let you do it too.)
(4) Hallmark cards = 2 FREE and 2 at $.99ea
(1) Sorrento Cheddar sticks (previously posted price was $2.99, but actually $3.99) = $1
(7) Birds Eye Steamfresh veggies = FREE with overages
(1) Smart Balance butter sticks = $.25
(1) Little Debbie 100 calorie cakes = $1.79 (no q but will get $.50 in my Upromise acct)
(1) Dove body wash = FREE with overages
(1) Neosporin and (1) 60ct Bandaids = $2.28 for both ($3 Green Px Advantage buy q exp today stacked with $.50/1 Bandaid and $.50/1 Neopsorin mfr qs)
I also had a $4/$20 CVS home mailer q to help lower my overall total.

I paid $6.94 OOP after tax and saved $56.05

Good luck on your trips this weekend and happy saving!

Oh!  I almost forgot!  I wanted to warn you that the Ronzoni pasta sale does not include the Healthy Harvest or Smart Taste varieties so you don't get your hopes up for $.19 boxes of pasta.

FREE PB & J!

On Monday (9/28) go here to submit a time saving, after school organizational tip and receive a coupon by mail for a FREE 4ct box of Smuckers Uncrustables.  My DD loves these but even when they are on sale, $.75 is too much to pay for what you get in the box.

Doubles and Triples - Keep 'Em Coming!

So I heard a rumor that Harris Teeter is thinking about making their Triples event a monthly occurance. Whoa Baby!  My kitchen cabinets would stay forever stocked!

Kmart will have another Super Doubles event from 9/27 to 10/3.  They will double up to 10 qs per transaction that have a face value of $2.00 or less.  You can do multiple transactions if you are over your q limit.  Stop by customer service before you start shopping and ask if they are enforcing the 10 q limit.  Last time my store bumped it up to 20 qs per transaction.  If you have any BOGO qs, definitely use those!  If the item is $2.00 or less the register will automatically double this type of q so you would get both items for FREE!  I have checked with customer service and there are only three stores in our area participating: North Charleston on Rivers Ave, Charleston on Savannah Hwy, and Mt Un-Pleasant on Johnnie Dodds.  As of today the Summerville store is not participating, but customer service says that can change up to the day before 9/27.

I just can't pass up FREE!

I have a confession...I'm addicted to FREE.

I raided Target of all their free dog food, well almost all of it ;-) My qs were going to expire yesterday so I had to make sure they didn't go to waste!

(2) 5oz Chef Michaels dog food pouches $.50ea
*Used 2 FREE Chef Michaels dog food pouch qs (exp 9/21)

*Used (5) $1.50 TQ off any Chef Michaels dog food (exp 9/26) from here
*Used (5) $3.00 Mfr q off any Chef Michaels dog food (exp 9/21) that I ordered from here

(30) cans Chef Michaels dog food $.84ea
*Used (15) BOGO TQ (exp 9/26) from here
*Used (15) BOGO Mfr q (exp 9/21) I ordered from here
FREE after qs

(8) Glade 2oz candles $2.49ea
*Used (8) $3.00 Mfr q off any Glade candle collection from "One Stop. One Store." booklet found at Px or 9/13 Sunday paper. Everytime I go in Px I find one of these booklets laying around where other shoppers have left it.  Too bad they don't realize the savings they passed up, but oh well!  More for me!
FREE + overages after qs

(1) The Karate Kid movie $5.00 (surprise for DH)
*Used $2.00 IP off any MovieStaycation movie. Go here to check out the available movies and print your coupon.  Many of the $5.00 movies at Target qualify and they would make great inexpensive holiday presents!

*No q but DS and DD were being super patient - odd...

Book for me $5.99

Publix Penny Item 9/20-9/21 & Honorable Mentions

The Publix penny item this week is

COFFEE

My house is pretty snobby about our brand of coffee, but for a penny - we'll take it!

Honorable Mentions:

Hood Milk (1/2 gallon) sale price $2.50
Our region's inserts didn't have the q that other areas had, but my Goose Creek Px had $1/1 blinkies for this milk. After q, $1.50 is a good price for milk, as it is, Px brand usually runs $2.99 to $3.49 for a gallon. Try the 2% chocolate flavor. My kids and DH really liked it and its not horribly bad for you compared to other brands of chocolate milk.

Tyson Frozen Breaded Chicken sale price $3.30
Use $2 FLIP here and $1/1 mfr q SS 8/02 = $.30
-Thanks to a great tip from my BF, I used these chicken patties to make quick and easy Chicken Parmesan for my fam of 4 with leftovers for DHs lunch! ($.30 chicken patties, $.10 noodles, $.35 jar of spaghetti sauce, $.50 frozen bread, and FREE cheese. Technically, we only used half the pkg of noodles, half of the bag of chicken patties, and half of the bread loaf, so really our dinner cost a whopping $.45!!! I think that's my record so far!)

Dove Nutrimoisture 24oz Body wash - not on sale but a money maker! $5.99
Use $2/1 Dove body wash RP 8/02, $2 FLIP here, and $2.50 WAGS q (pick up this q booklet towards the front of your WAGS, exp 9/26) = FREE plus $.51 overage

Weight Watchers frozen novelty ice cream $3.50
Use $1/1 mfr blinkie = $2.50
Upromise savings $1.00
-This isn't a fabulous deal, but it's decent. I tried the ice cream bars that are equivalent to the Snickers ice cream bars and they are equally as yummy!

Daisy Sour Cream 8oz reg. price $1.29
Use $1 FLIP here = $.29

Glass Plus cleaner $1.25
Use $.50/1 SS 8/23
Upromise savings $.75

Check out the Nabisco Oreo display in your Px. Mine had tear pads for $2 off any milk wyb 2 pks of Oreos.
